Lange Twins Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Availability:In stock
Our 2016 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon has a vibrant cherry aroma that gives way to a pleasant fresh cherry fruit flavor. The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with dense cherry aromas that carry through to the palate. Extended maceration adds richness and length to the wine while 16 months of aging in predominately French Oak barrels lend flavors of warm spice. This is a well-balanced wine that can be enjoyed now and for years to come. Certified Lodi Rules for Sustainable Wine growing Vineyard Notes Our LangeTwins Estate Cabernet Sauvignon draws on wine grapes from three estate vineyards in the center of the Lodi Appellation. From gentle rolling vineyard floors to the influence of a nearby river, each vineyard has unique attributes that are essential to the consistent style and quality. Production Notes We were fortunate with the weather for much of the growing season, having a relatively dry spring and arid summer that allowed us to have complete control of irrigation. A week of very warm temperatures in the beginning of July spurred an early 2013 harvest, but during harvest the weather cooperated with daytime temperatures in the 80’s to low 90’s and only in the 50’s at night. This was perfect to develop flavor intensity. In mid-September an unexpected 1/2 inch of rain worried us about our late ripening varietals, but we managed crop levels both early in the season and closely after the rains and were rewarded with excellent color and flavor intensity. Food Pairing Notes Cheese: Gorgonzola / Meat: Beef, Tuna / Sauce: Rich Tomato / Dessert: Bittersweet Chocolate

Charles Ivory and J.M. Burt were two of Lodi’s earliest settlers - starting the first store next to the railroad station on Pine and Sacramento Streets. The Ivory Store brought together a myriad of unique folks who created this special place - homesteaders, farmers and even winemakers. Ivory & Burt Wines celebrate our home, the people of Lodi, and of course, the unmistakable wines made here. Settled in 1859 and officially incorporated in 1906, Lodi’s first citizens flocked to the area because of the railroad, but stayed for the agriculture opportunities. From wheat to watermelons, Lodi’s original crops took advantage of the same climate and soil that makes it a prime location for growing high-quality wine grapes today.   The fertile soils are rich in minerals but well-drained and the classic Mediterranean climate with warm afternoons and cool evenings allow wine grapes to develop ripe fruit flavors.  Fruit-forward wines with a nice acid balance characterizes the quintessential style which Lodi is known.
